On the occasion of Republic Day, 4,500 students of a private engineering college in Puducherry participated in creating the Ashoka Chakra at the center of the national flag. It was featured in the World Book of Records. The Ashoka wheel created by the students was officially registered and certified by Christopher Taylor Craft, an official of the American World Record Group.
