Sri Lankan Navy opened fire on Karaikal fishermen; Condemned by the Central Government

The Central Government has condemned Sri Lanka for firing on 13 Karaikal fishermen and arresting them by the Sri Lankan Navy for catching fish across the border. "Sri Lanka cannot accept the use of its force against Indian fishermen under any circumstances. Since it is a livelihood issue, the issue of fishermen should be dealt with in a humane manner," Sri Lanka has called the ambassador in Delhi and condemned it.
