46 candidates including Chandrakumar from DMK and Seethalakshmi from Nathaka are contesting in this. Earlier in 2021, this block was Congress. Her father EVKS Ilangovan, MLA in the 2023 by-election, passed away in December 2024 after her husband Evera, who was an MLA, passed away.
